I guess mine would be, "Well, in (insert random city here) they do it this way..."

Exactly. I just thought that one would have went over people's heads. You should have went ahead and inserted Chicago.

;)

How about this one people?

"I'm from LA, and I can tell you Houston is not that bad."

Futhermore:

"I have been to Atlanta one time if you count going to the airport."

Oh! That one is our citykid!

B)

who's this?

quote:" since I might be the only one here to actually ever present evidence to a grand jury........"

I think I'm seeing Red... <_<

B)

But the absolute best thing about this forum...we pick and snipe and try to out-do each other but in the end, it's the only one I go to anymore because we all-for the most part-are civil to one another...and I love it-bad grammer and spelling included. :D

Hey I'm not talking one time post, but things they say on the regular.

:lol: that's not fair, I only said that "bum" thing one time. I don't think Houston's bums are a major problem, they just add to the scenery. I look at them as like a PSA, showing kids that you better study hard and stay in school.

Didn't you say the newspaper stands being removed will make the bums go away?

That was part of explaing how a mass exodus to Dallas would occur if we did that. I never start the "bum" thing, someone always mentions it first, and I have to throw my 2 cents in.:lol::lol: It's a conspiracy I tell you, they are goading me into saying evil things about bums. :o Red, put the coffee down and get back to work you bum !

That would be Gary B.

But who is this?

"Many people don't know what true urbanism is. The only way to determine if an area is urban is if people can walk around."

"That's too car oriented"

Both of these quotes are our wonderful thread starter Texasboy!

But who always uses this smiley in their posts? B)B)B)B)B)

Here you go Ashikaga.....

"Do they have the same things in Houston as they do here in Beaumont ?"

You gotta get out more, you don't live on planet Nematoid, you are only 90 miles from H-town, c'mon chief ! <_<

I couldn't have thought of a better saying myself. You're absolutely correct. Someday I'll take a drive over there when I have the resources.

How much is a Greyhound ticket? Like $13? You might be able to catch a morning bus one way and an afternoon bus the other and just make a day trip out of it.

Don't know. Can't remember when his last post was. I miss arguing with him.

you bad scary men ran him off......shame on you ! :)

I remember back in 1972 a one-way bus ticket from Beaumont to Houston was $3 (three) dollars.

Now, how in the world can you remember that, and not recall that Tom's and Lance's snacks are available here in Houston ? ;)

I haven't been to Houston enough to know what kind of snacks are sold there.

I'm at an age (47) where I'm looking back on the pleasant memories of my life. One of them is the time that I lived in Houston (1962-64). All of you have done well in updating me as to the places that I remember from back then, if they still exist or not. The way that I understand your topic, I lived on what you call The East End.

Dammit, I forgot about the whole (1962-64) thing. Wait, didn't I quote that already, I have to go look up there again. I think I see it.
