Stream and AMD Global Break Ground on Medical Office Building in Houston, TX

Stream Realty Partners (Stream) and AMD Global recently celebrated the official groundbreaking of Hedwig Place, a 102,474 square-foot, five-story, Class A medical office building located in Hedwig Village, an affluent, independent municipality on Houston’s booming west side.

Stream Vice President Richard Barbles said, “The demand for quality healthcare space in this corridor was and is undeniable. We sought to capture that demand by collaborating with local community physicians to develop Hedwig Place.”

Situated on two acres, Hedwig Place is at the heart of the Memorial Villages, three miles from Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center and within minutes of Houston’s popular Uptown District. Stream Realty Partners’ Houston team broke ground on the development 65 percent preleased with anchor tenants Memorial Plastic Surgery and Texas Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists, occupying approximately 45,000 square feet combined.

“We are very excited to announce our expansion into a new office at Hedwig Place. This larger space allows us to continue providing exceptional care to our patients in a comfortable and safe environment,” said Dr. Patrick W. Hsu, Founder of Memorial Plastic Surgery. “Our new facility is customized to accommodate our patient’s needs inside a beautifully designed, state-of-the art clinic and surgery space, which will allow us to deliver concierge service in the privacy of our own environment.”

Hedwig Place is located on the I-10 feeder road and boasts convenient freeway access. The site also provides ingress/egress from well-known community roads Gaylord Drive and Old Voss Road. Parking is available at a comfortable 4/1,000 square foot plus ratio.

Federal Grill in Hedwig Village to open for dine-in service despite county order

Federal Grill owner Matt Brice plans to open his restaurant's dining room to customers April 24, despite Harris County's "Stay Home, Work Safe" order remaining in effect until April 30, according to reports.

Only the Hedwig Village location at 8731 Katy Freeway will open, not the Washington Corridor location at 510 Shepherd, the Houston Chronicle reports. Although he'll be defying the county's order, which prohibits dine-in service, Brice told CultureMap that the mayor of Hedwig Village is OK with him proceeding and plans to dine at the restaurant April 24.

Federal Grill is taking several precautions regarding safety and hygiene as well as limiting the number of diners to 30 percent of the restaurant's capacity, according to both reports. The dining room will only be open from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and curbside and delivery will still be available, per the Chronicle.

“We should be able to open very responsibly," Brice told CultureMap. "How is it that … you can walk into a Walgreens with 30, 40, 50 people in there? Why can they open? Why can’t we? They can either shut everything down or don’t.”

However, he told CultureMap he would comply with law enforcement if told he has to close.
