Can anyone make out the location?   Edit: Based on the surrounding buildings, this would take out the small strip center at 1801 Post Oak in Uptown.    https://www.google.com/maps/

I don't think Timoric said it is now, and I don't think any body else thinks it is either. But with the groundwork laid and infrastructure in place it opens up Post Oak to become whatever developers,

I'm kind of welcoming the dystopian mazerunner wall. Facing dead west is terrible in the summer, I rarely ever open my blinds and maybe my electric bill will go down now.

Thats also standard for nearly any development of any makeup in Houston, with slight variations depending on the program. If you aren't building a parking garage, the general rule of thumb is that 2/3rds of your lot is going to be parking. If you have a parking garage then its only 1/3rd, but 1/3rd is still a lot!

If you don't like it, keep pushing the city to dump the ridiculous parking minimums and shift to market based parking. Even though we don't have a lot of public transit yet, that market based parking probably would cut down the size of parking garages from taking up 1/3rd of a development to at least 1/4 or even 1/5.

^^^ this particular edifice is being beautifully constructed.   the overall scale and scope... seems to be perfectly posh for POST OAK BLVD.  customers alike, are going to be patronizing this particular location just to be seen here.  brilliantly planned... brilliantly constructed... and brilliant location...

I think when more and more buildings get built with the idea of street presence, we’ll see fewer and fewer developers default to parking in the front, regardless of ordinance.

This is definitely a building that looks better in person. I was lukewarm on the pics that made it look like a generic, suburban office building. But seeing it in person and it’s proximity to the street and general massing have made me a fan.

I have to give the developers credit for being "brave" in pushing their building so close to the edge of the street.  It seems so out of character in a city like Houston that when you see it, it stands out as being something exceptional.

Literally every building going forward should be designed in this manner.

They could be financially strapped due to the pandemic ... In a year, when things get back to some semblance of normalcy it will be a good time to be in the hospitality business.  Right now, I'm sure many restaurant owners are operating at a loss. There are many hotels in Houston that are delinquent on their mortgages, including the Hilton Post Oak.
