I worked as a busboy there in the 60’s and have incredible memories of having my picture taken with Mitzi Gaynor and Dale Robertson (famous actors from that period), plus I met John Mecom Jr. when I worked there, as well as Billy Cannon (his Heisman was on display for some time), plus George Blanda, Bob Talamini, Charlie Tolar and many of the other AFC champion Houston Oilers(Bat and Steve Oggero knew “everybody”, and some say knew “too many!”. DannyS Posted June 19, 2022 Share Posted June 19, 2022 I grew up down Telephone Road in Gulf Meadows from ‘63 to 71. We loved Oggero’s. It was always a special treat for our birthday. Bat lived to be 93, and passed away in 2020. I heard from so many people that they would call the restaurant to ask if my dad would be there that evening because they only wanted to come if he was there ! ❤️ I am actually looking for the large Oggero’s sign.
