'Houston-based MetroNational, which owns the 265-acre Memorial City mixed-use development, will soon add luxury apartments adjacent to Memorial City Mall.

The eight-floor, 327-unit midrise will be at the northwest corner of Barryknoll Lane and Memorial City Way, currently a parking lot just southwest of the mall. The project is slated to break ground this month, and apartments are expected to open in the summer of 2019, according to a statement.'

A partnership between Slate Real Estate Partners, Gilbane Building Co. and MetroNational have recently topped off the Barryknoll project in Houston.

Located at the corner of Barryknoll Lane and Memorial City Way, the 333-unit property will comprise a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartment configurations. Gilbane supplied development administration duties for the building of this new eight-story, 670,000-square-foot luxury community. Common area amenities will include:
  • 570 parking spaces
  • eighth-floor amenity deck
  • pool
  • bar
  • cabanas
  • catering kitchen
  • sitting areas
  • dog park
  • fitness center
  • bicycle maintenance and storage
  • leasing center
  • walk-up apartments
  • landscaped interior courtyard

The building is adjacent to the Memorial City Mall which features several dining and shopping opportunities. The property offers easy access to Katy Freeway, Interstate 10 and Sam Houston Tollway. Although the project is slated for completion in the third quarter of next year, it will begin leasing in autumn.
