Parrothead
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/9214243/Looks like Midway tried to purchase this when they bought T&C mall, but Radisson declined. Now MetroNational has it, so you know they are going to make it great! It would be nice to know what they're going to do! I am excited about the change. kjb434
I think a certain portion of the property will be taken by the new interchange. The hotel wasn't that bad. I would meet some people after work for Happy Hour there. Pitcher beers and a buffet. It would have been great for it to tie into the proposals for the Town and Country locaton. Parrothead
I think they are going to do that. The article didn't say anything about any condemnation for the freeway--I don't think MetroNational would have bought it?
KinkaidAlum
MetroNational's remake of the Memorial City got a big boost today. The old Radisson will become a Four Points by Sheraton, a new 155 room hotel called the Sheraton Houston Memorial City will be built next to Baseball USA, and a new 250 room hotel with 65 luxury condos built on the top floors called the Westin Houston Memorial City will be built adjacent to the new Memorial Hermann Tower that is currently rising.http://houston.bizjournals.com/houston/sto...tml?jst=b_ln_hl

Montrose1100
I hope they don't change the outside of the Radisson Hotel. It looks so cool.

The Great Hizzy!
Unfortunately, the old Raddison will still be plagued by the intrustive, whirling exit ramp from the Sam Houston Tollway to the Katy Freeway. Talk about your obstructed views!Nevertheless, good to hear more about those redevelopment plans moving forward. It had been kind of quiet on that front for about a year or so. The Great Hizzy!
I really hope they rethink that crown. It looks waaay too garish and tacky, IMO. The hotel, however, would look pretty nice, indeed.

houstonfella
The building is totally cool. Without the crown, it is another building. With the crown, it is a highrise that has a bit of flair. My 2 cents.

dgreco
That explains this mysterious building behind the Memorial Herman tower. the further away building really reminds me of this rendering. Mosaic in Houston.
ChannelTwoNews
Just wondering... Are renderings available for any of the hotels at this point? I take it the Four Points will keep the look of the old Radisson, but is the building behind the Memorial Hermann Tower just an early drawing or the final design for one of the other hotels? citykid09
Like Frost bank in Austin. The Frost Bank Build in Austin leads up to the crown, this building is basically a box and then there is a crown just stuck up there. they should have designed a building to fit the crown, or a crown to fit the building, because the current one doesn't.
