editor Posted September 7, 2005 Share Posted September 7, 2005 NEWS RELEASESchool Registration Starts Wednesday(HARRIS COUNTY, TX) --- The Houston Independent School District (HISD) will register children for elementary and secondary public school (students in grades K-12) this week beginning Wednesday, September 7th. Registration will start on Wednesday morning with students living in the Reliant Center, followed by Reliant Astrodome; and finish with the Reliant Arena. Registration will be set up on the first floor of the Reliant Center, so children living in the Reliant Arena and Reliant Astrodome will be transported by school shuttle busses to Reliant Center.Documentation, such as birth certificates and immunization records, is helpful but not required. The students will attend classes along with local Houston school children. Students will attend schools throughout Houston.All students will be transported to and from school by regular HISD school buses. No school uniforms are required. School supplies will be provided by donation and available at the schools. Classes in HISD will begin on Thursday, September 8th.
