jmancuso
no, the US has had numerous offers from around the world and accepted them all.
editor
I erased the first post because it is not fact, just a bunch of conjecture, rumor, and opinion. This section of the form is not for that. The hurricane catastrophe is too important to let people use it to create fear uncertainty, and doubt. Facts only. Cite sources. No rumors allowed. jt16
Let's take this thread on a new path. I say when we rebuild, we move the city a little further north and call it Newer Orleans.
editor
I heard a similar suggestion. I think if they do build elsewhere, they could use New New Orleans. Or maybe I've been watching too much "Futurama."
Guest danax
Or just North New Orleans and call it NO NO, and keep what's left of Old New Orleans, which could be known as O NO.

RedScare
Afghanistan has offered $100,000 in aid for the relief effort.China has offered $5,000,000 and rescuers, if needed.Iran has offered aid, though I believe it will be channelled through The Red Crescent.Perhaps most amazing, CUBA has offered 26 tons of supplies. They have 1500 doctors waiting at an airport holding area, ready to fly to the US as soon as permission is granted.
editor
I saw Castro's comment when someone asked him about the federal response. He said something along the lines of "It is not good to kick an advisary when he's down."
