Blue Dogs
Ladies & Gentlemen, the polls are now open in the special election for TX House of Representatives, District 139, which was previously held for decades by current Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner (D), who resigned from the TX House of Representatives on January 2nd, after taking office as Houston's 62nd Mayor. Democrats Jarvis Johnson (former City Councilman, District B from 2006 to 2012) & educator Rickey "Raykey" Tezino are running in the upcoming May 7th special election. Harris County Clerk Stan Stanart [R] has been encouraging residents to take advantage of a pair of new voting locations that have been added to helping reduce waiting times for the northwest Houston district's 91,000 registered voters. Until May 3rd, voters can cast their ballots at 4 locations: Acres Homes Multi-Service Center at 6719 W. Montgomery, Lone Star College's Victory Center at 4141 Victory, Fallbrook Church at 12512 Walters, & the Harris County Administration Building at 1001 Preston. "This special election provides voters in SRD 139 the opportunity to let their voices be heard & familiarize themselves with the new early voting locations in the area," Stanart said in a statement. "Voting early is the best option because, by law, voters are limited to their designated polling location on Election Day." http://www.houstonchronicle.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/Early-polls-open-to-fill-seat-vacated-by-7307057.php Who do y'all think will win the special election for SRD 139 on May 7th ?
