It has hit critical mass. What Chinatown needs is a signature piece of architecture. Like a public square or statue or something. In fact, Houston in general is lacking of strong public works of art o

Their Fairfield outlet Mall (Houston Premium Outlets) is one of their highest grossing projects in Houston. Try are definitely not going anywhere soon. Closed malls, those are a different story.

Yes I would say more likely than the one in Richmond/Rosenburg.

I was thinking that this one, FOR SURE, was going to be the one to be developed.

I'm sure it will also, it's just the question of if people want to travel those extra miles for the same store. Rosenburg is big enough to support it alone though, maybe not as much as this one.

I'll look at it like the ones in Katy and Cypress, since those two malls are on your way of or into Houston.

IDK about this... how nice can this really be? I mean it sits across the street from a Wal Mart....

The real question is how nice an outlet mall can be? Tanger and Cypress are ok... The layouts a little funky and no real food options. The corridors are quite narrow for the traffic they create.

I saw the site plans after going to fort bend star website and typing in outlet mall in search box and saw the site plans for the Legacy, however could not copy and paste them here.  Looks like a nice site plan for the area. The article mentions 150 stores in  the outlet mall and a building that would be at least 10 stories tall.

The search page shows a date of June 2014 so I don't know how accurate this is.

I saw this linked on Swamplot this morning. I haven't found a relevant thread, so here you go:

Stafford, Texas – The Stafford City Council has approved a plan to redevelop the 192-acre Texas Instruments site on the Southwest Freeway, just southwest of Houston.

Last year, Street Level Investments, the developer of the mixed-use project, said it is expected to include a 400,000-square-foot Simon Premium Outlet retail center, 600,000 square feet of office space, multifamily development and a hotel.

The site, with an enormous half-mile of frontage on the Southwest Freeway, has been the campus of Texas Instruments, which is vacating the property and selling it to Dallas-based Street Level, which would be leased by an affiliated company, Edge Realty Partners.

My expectations aren't high - suburban outlet mall, apartments, office buildings - but perhaps a nice addition to the area. Does anyone have more details?

Is the project for the outlet mall really dead?  Is it in an article somewhere?  The company I work for was asked last month to sign a lease to go into the outlet mall section.  Since they are not local, they are wondering if the project is still a go.  Any info?
