Popular Post Mab
Quote A Houston real estate company developing a 40-story residential building downtown has purchased a 3-acre site near the Galleria for what could be another luxury tower down the road. An affiliate associated with BMS Management and Woodbranch Investments acquired 4600 Post Oak Place early this year for an undisclosed amount. The inner-loop site between Post Oak Boulevard and San Felipe houses a three-story office building constructed in the 1970s. The property is in an area rife with new development, including a Gables apartment complex and an office building under development for Amegy Bank. A new building could be residential or office, but there are no immediate development plans. "It's not the right time," said Philip Schneidau, president of BMS Management. Schneidau said downtown's Market Square Tower has reached 34 stories and is expected to top out in February. The first units should open by October. http://www.chron.com/business/real-estate/article/4600-POST-OAK-6630811.php?cmpid=twitter-desktop

houstontexasjack
San Felipe is going to be so constrained with traffic once this whole area builds out with high rises. It's kind of like going on an deep fried Oreo, Chicago-style pizza, doughnut, and milkshake diet when one's carotid already has an 80% blockage. Traffic at rush hour in Uptown is a nightmare--the bottlenecks are awful and show no signs of getting better. On the bright side....I now work Downtown and can just watch the highrises pop up from afar. Edit: is mistakenly indicated 'worse' instead of better in the last sentence of the first paragraph above. Thats too bad. It seemed like a fairly nice design in an area that is getting quite dense. Back to the drawing board.

I hope the plans have changed. The parking podium is large enough to support two towers.

astrohip
Prime it is. My dentist was in there for decades, and I remembered when they moved. It was going to be redeveloped. {crickets} since then.
