Popular Post hindesky
Glaziers are replacing the last damaged section of windows. I saw a worker with a vest, flag and whistle on Fannin St., asked him who he worked for and he said Metro. His job was to flag the light rail train to slow down and for the workers to back off while they worked on the sidewalk right next to the track. Being proactive toward safety is good. I wonder if the developer will install a handrail to keep people from absentmindedly walking on the tracks? Two
What's up with the teal color windows? Are they just not finished putting some sort of window tint on or did they pick that on purpose?
freundb
I question that as well. I think the building looks fine, but the window color is terrible.

Probably, but the ownership group got a lot of shit from the MPNA for shutting the surrounding streets down and for light pollution and noise from the construction. Dunno how they felt about that. Gotta say, this thing looks cool from the street level. Edited February 3, 2022 by X.R.

Texasota
It's super dated looking. It's not hideous, and it's better than a vacant lot, but the real promise of this development is the whole plan. This first building is ...underwhelming.
Montrose1100
It's on par with Memorial City Memorial Hermann Robot building. It's so bad, it's almost good? Love the darker blue glass which is refreshing to see since every new glass curtain is the light blue in the middle. The Aqua glass is awful, and the garage wrap is laughable. But hey, it's different, and It's not a parking lot? The bar is low in this town. Could be redeemed if they welded the Maman sculpture horizontally on the garage wrap facing San Jacinto. Then It would be a masterpiece. 1

The tower outlined in the background is a good indicator the residential high-rise is still on with good height. Looks like it has evolved a bit. Has more setbacks and a spire.

arche_757
A 600’ tower in that location would be quite dominating for that stretch of the skyline. This will be nearly as grandiose as Williams in some respects, at least in terms of scale to surroundings.
X.R.
Say what we want about the building, but they have done a great job with the landscaping and the sidewalks with the building. Mix of mature and young trees, some jasmine for the railings, and ample texas native plants. The street experience, based on seeing into the expansive glass panels while walking on a re-done sidewalk under some serious tree coverage, is really nice. The attention to detail is there. If they do this for two more blocks, sign me up.
