Mab
A Houston-based apartment developer broke ground Monday on a 60-unit apartment complex in a great east side neighborhood and said it’s the first such construction of its kind in about 20 years. The nearly 2-acre plot of land at 6520 Jamail Drive will be developed into “modest” housing, said Dakota Property CEO Rick Guttman. He said the project will allow those who live in the community to remain there, upgrading their apartments as the neighborhood slowly transforms. It will not include the amenities such as pools, cabanas and gyms that have become typical at new construction projects. The three-story project will have 60 units and feature one- and two-bedroom plans with granite countertops and stainless-steel appliances. The location is around the corner from a neighborhood Fiesta store, near the Gus Wortham Golf Course and about half a mile from the new METRO line connecting to downtown. The developer, which currently manages and owns apartment communities around Houston, plans to open the complex as soon as March 2016. http://blog.chron.com/primeproperty/2015/06/construction-begins-on-new-greater-east-side-apartment-complex/

ANTHONYHTOWN
It is not hear UH at all but those apartments were pretty much abandoned and were made from brick. Actually kind of glad that are taking on this and the concept they have is right not to be over done and over price for that location.
