This looks interesting. To be built near the current Sam Moon shopping center on the east side of 45.

Construction on Shenandoah’s new mixed-use development, MetroPark Square, is underway east of I-45.

The 69-acre development, which has the potential of adding $700 million in value to the city, will be built in three phases, each with staggered completion dates over the next three years. Upon completion by 2020, the development will include retail, restaurant and entertainment options as well as office space, hotels and multifamily space.

Construction on Phase 1 began in November and is expected to be complete by March 2018. The phase includes 175,000 square feet of restaurant, retail and entertainment space anchored by AMC-10, which is a 10-screen movie theater that is expected to open this fall.

Phase 2 will include a four-story, 325-unit high-end apartment complex and two nationally known select service hotels, Moon said. Construction is expected to begin at the end of 2017 and will wrap up by late 2018 or early 2019.

Moon said construction on the project’s final phase could begin by late 2018 and be completed by 2020, featuring an additional 600 units of multifamily living space, a full-service hotel and an office building.

The development will also include a pavilion, fountain and outdoor event space for families and children to enjoy.

Metropark Square, a long-awaited mixed-use district in Shenandoah north of Houston, is expected to officially open in March.

Dallas-based retailer and developer Sam Moon Group plans to announce the grand opening information in the coming months, according to a Dec. 28 press release. Plans include a celebration on the event lawn featuring food, music, games and more.

Prior to the grand opening, the district's 41,500-square-foot AMC Metropark 10 movie theater is slated to open in February, per the release. Urban Air — an indoor adventure park with a wipeout ride, indoor skydiving, a ropes course, a climbing wall, a trampoline range, a ninja warrior course and a full bar and restaurant — will open in March.

They may be finally starting on the apartments.  They have cleared the site again (it was starting to get grown over).  https://goo.gl/maps/c67WeXVmvYpkDBRc7

"Now tentatively named the Shenandoah Plaza...The Sam Moon Group has also broken ground on a new apartment complex adjacent to the center, which is expected to be completed in 2024"
