The talk will explore how Houston fits into these patterns and where its distinctive patterns deviated from them. Professor Gwendolyn Wright focuses on American architecture and urbanism from the late-nineteenth century to present day. She was the first woman to receive tenure at GSAPP and also works with the history and art history departments. Since 2003, Professor Wright has hosted the popular PBS television series, "History Detectives."Parking is available at the Houston Public Library garage, accessible from the Lamar St. side of the building.
