Surveys, Drawings, Info from the City

Recommended Posts

I am currently dealing with a landlord who is quite possibly the most relaxed/old-school individual I have ever had to deal with, who prefers to negotiate verbally and won’t deal in writing because he can’t read well, even though he has some prime real-estate here in Houston specifically on Washington Ave.

Any how a client and I have put an offer down on one of his properties which he has no survey, plans or drawings for. Is there any way to get a survey from the city? Does anyone have experience doing this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

AK!

If you want an actual survey, you will probably have to pay a surveyor to do one. The county records do not generally contain surveys of each lot, in my experience. It's worth having hte surveyor do the jobin  any case, since he will mark the corners and boundaries, which will let you see whether or not there are any encroachments from neighboring properties.
