Triton
Uhhhh.... is this even real? A READER WHO was sent a link to an earlier version of this long promotional video earlier today is eager to learn whether the Skye, Rise, and Edge — the 3 condo towers promised in it — are “real or vaporware.” And continues: “The promise of a 12 month delivery was what immediately stood out for me. Anyone in commercial construction will tell you that it is next to impossible unless it’s a vanity project in Dubai with no budget limitations.” Otherwise, the reader notes, “It felt like an SNL skit.” http://swamplot.com/why-our-condo-towers-will-be-so-much-better-than-everybody-elses-and-why-were-building-3-of-them/2014-05-22/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trRORK_fnlE

Nate99
12 months seems like a pipe dream, but I guess anything is possible with enough money. The lack of specifics seems consistent with a very early stage idea, if anything.

Jax
I can't turn on the audio at work but what's up with the CN Tower (Toronto) in the background?
Subdude
Sounds too good to be true. Indoor car wash and dog park, and a fleet of cars? It sounds like the kind of development proposal that gets made immediately before the market crashes. Registration starts June 2, so we should find out soon if it is legit. Triton
At first I was skeptical, but I actually think there is some validity to it... Check out the website: http://www.elevatedhouston.com/

Subdude
There are also renderings on a site called stopvoting.org, but there is nothing else on the site. On that page it says prices in mid-$200s and registration beginning May 8th. stopvoting.org? What's going on here? http://www.stopvoting.org/
UtterlyUrban
The website was registered 4-15-2014.Hmmmm.All private registration stuff is with a Canadian firm.Hmmmm
arche_757
Right, lots of Toronto imagery, and there are some Chicago images as well. Could be the same developer/architects who did those projects designed for Toronto? There was another tower shown - the only one from the ground up - those other three were just place holders from what I gather - visuals? Could be wrong? Luckily June 2nd is only a little ways off, so the wait for more information won't be too long.

Triton
Those renderings are for towers in Toronto. Yea, the first tower is actually Aura at College Park in Toronto. So this is bogus?
arche_757
Well... the same video trailed off with night shots of a city that was very much not Houston. Marketing images... "what ifs" if you will. Most outside of the architectural community wouldn't recognize these buildings as existing or proposed for another city. I would assume it is not bogus? Not yet. Guess we shall find out. Subdude
Images of buildings in another city, coupled with total use of stock photography, give it more than a whiff of bogus. There's nothing here except someone's school project perhaps.
arche_757
^Probably so. What is with the second site though? Odd name. Though, even a bogus "school project" some one could google images of Houston and videos of Houston. That and school (colleges) are out and have been for quite a couple weeks for the most part. Seems a little too unprofessional though for something touting 3 residential highrise condo's.

There's nothing here except someone's school project perhaps. You mean like this... This must be how they can promote moving in in 12 months... Once completed, Aura will be the tallest residential tower in Canada. So tall in fact that it was split up into 2 separate condo corporations so that the developer could start moving in the residents on the lower floors while the upper floors are still under construction. I noticed the Toronto high-rises as well, a lot of developments going on there that includes multiple high-rise condos. Could indeed be a Canadian firm. Montrose1100
I got from the video that those are other properties they built. Although a bit odd they didn't show any renderings for Houston.

H-Town Man
Also spotted the Dallas skyline and the Empire State Building. And some city with a river, which ain't Houston, of course.BUT stock backgrounds seem common in these things. The first aerials were Houston, and quite nice. If it's bogus, why go to the trouble? The video clearly disses the current Houston condo market, showing 3333 Allen Parkway, Mosaic Towers, Four Leaf Towers, and the Cosmopolitian, and 2727 Kirby. ClutchCity
Could this be the rumored 2 billion dollar project? That's what it sounds like. Should be quite a few units in this development. Just hope it comes to fruition and is actually downtown. It looks like they really want to do something great. Might even be a game changer! J Money
According to my magical reverse image search:"Rise" is Number One Bloor in Toronto (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_One_Bloor), and"Edge" is the Limelight Condos in Missisauga, Ontario (http://www.limelightcondos.com/select.html) Edit: One Bloor looks like Aqua's fraternal twin: http://www.onebloor.com/
