VicMan
As part of the closure of Dodson Elementary, the attendance zones between elementary schools in Downtown have shifted. Much of the areas formerly zoned to Bruce Elementary and Blackshear Elementary have been rezoned to Gregory Lincoln: http://www.houstonisd.org/site/handlers/filedownload.ashx?moduleinstanceid=51135&dataid=101587&FileName=031314OA_POST.pdf (See attachment F2) The number of children living in Downtown itself could be counted on one hand (let alone those who attend public school) but it is still something to consider. I am interested in knowing if, in terms of HISD magnet schools, if Gregory Lincoln is considered to be a better school than it used to be. It would be interesting if they could make an academic program attractive enough to someone who has a family in a Downtown loft/high-rise apartment.
