SpaceGhost
What is "savage style" fried chicken? It's chicken that the kid from "The Wonder Years" enjoys Seriously though it was just their "style" of chicken in the sense that KFC's is Kentucky style. Savage of course is referring to Indians. I believe my folks had told me it was pan fried chicken which is what the Indians on the roof in the picture are doing. Although I'm not old enough to have actually eaten their to confirm. Other than that I don't know what real connection the chicken had to Indians.
sabasushi
Cool picture -- where on West Gray was this located? Sadly, KFC ain't what it was, now that it's just "corporatized" chain food with fake-tasting sides. Picture in front of West Gray KFC
Subdude
West Gray and Woodhead I believe. The Captain Johns Seafood restaurant in the background was where Pier One is now.
sabasushi
So the old KFC was where that bank (sorry, forgot its name) is, next door to that big apartment building with the gargoyles? :-)
