HAIFers,

It looks like the rumors of a new international airline starting flights to Houston is true.

From May 2nd, Korean Airlines starts 4 flying to IAH 4 times per week with 3-class 777-200ER aircraft from Seoul Incheon. Here is the schedule:

Quote

KE029 ICN0910 – 0830IAH 772 x247

KE030 IAH1040 – 1530+1ICN 772 x247

Here is the link:

In addition, Dallas service gets reduced from daily to 5 times weekly.

Another great addition for Houston.

Thanks.

Strange because they are an airline with the Star Alliance. It must be we have the most divers community in Houston. They need to expand terminal D. I think it is getting upgrades to handle more Airbus A-380 planes. Air France wants to fly one here. Right now IAH just has Lufthansa Airlines 380. That is odd they will reduce service at DFW. According to Zacks the new American Airlines is very weak in Asia. They will fly to PEK and PVG from DFW this spring but that add 3 more flight hours with no connectivity but JAL.

NOT Star Alliance, sorry.

When Southwest flies to Latin America will they charge for bags? If you do not know Southwest has no cargo department. It makes a lot of money on international flights. They cannot make money on every person that wants to go to Cancun.

No and yes it does. Also they will expand to south and Central America as well. United is doomed.

You fly how may times? Sorry United made $1.1 billion 2013. Suck up your sh.

Who are you even talking to? Just stop it. Every single aviation-related thread turns into you bashing people who don't fly first class on United 50 times a year. I would say take your nonsense to Airliners, but you were probably banned from that site long ago.

Wow GS! You never fly economy. I would like to meet you. GS is invitation only. Why do you care about airfares? You are the King!

Well this is first year on gs we will see if upgrades come. Travel business for work but economy on my own dime.

Remember taxes to Mexico are over $100. You think Southwest will pay for that? No.

Those taxes are the same no matter what.

Southwest will do what they always do in Central and South America. Cheap, no-frills, flights for the ghetto masses who cannot afford anything better, but with peanuts. And there is a big market for that. Enjoy your trip.

The ghetto masses? Pray tell, what are the ghetto masses?

Guess it's official...

http://www.chron.com/business/article/Korean-Air-launches-nonstop-service-between-Seoul-5206758.php?cmpid=hpts

Korean Air announced Wednesday it is launching a nonstop service between Houston and Seoul.

The four-day-a-week flight will launch in May between Bush Intercontinental and Incheon International Airports. The flights will depart every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. This is the second destination for the airline in Texas.

"We're very bullish on the Americas," says John Jackson, the airline's vice president of marketing for North and South America, in a statement. "Houston is the fifth largest metro area in the U.S. with a very strong travel market to Asia. We've decided to earn our fair share of the market with a highly competitive product and service that's hard to beat."

Mayor Annise Parker said that the route will be an exceptional business opportunity for the Korean Air team.

"Houston's dynamic economy and diverse population continue to strengthen its position on the world stage," said Houston Mayor Annise Parker, in a statement. "This new nonstop flight to Seoul is an excellent example of Houston's enhanced status as a gateway city and key player in the global marketplace."

  • 2 weeks later...

IAH has more International traffic than DFW.  Korean Airlines is part of Oneworld with AA.  It is great to fly to Houston.  We have the most diverse population in the country.  Also a lot chemical companies are based here.  Which is great non-stop to ICN.  But we do not need your blog from dallas.  We already know, please advise us of something else.  Remember Houston will have 2 International Airports next year put that on dallas blog.  LOL!
