monarch
the painting on the sidewalk by corner bakery is already peeling off^^^ well if this is indeed the case... then talk about poor planning, and an incredible waste of money, during a time of serious penny pinching throughout the city... Nole23
if its already peeling then it will look like a failed paintball fight at that corner by the time the Super Bowl rolls around....

UtterlyUrban
I think that the "art" that they are paintin on the sidewalks and buildings looks like crap and the paint hasn't even dried. In 6 months it will look worse.
dml423
I agree with most people. This art work just looks whack. The money could have been spent for better artwork.

UtterlyUrban
Seriously, how was this " art" picked....... Was thetr a competition with a winner? Or did some "committee" decide to do this?Fugly. Edited March 4, 2016 by UtterlyUrban
tigereye
Some updates: 1. They're already closing down Color Jam to prime and repaint in the morning. 2. Renner's Trumpet Flower was due to go up starting today but is now delayed because of permitting.https://twitter.com/downtownhouston/status/7058871342221680643. UtterlyUrban
Just when me thinks that Houston is trying to live in the 1990's, they come along and paint us back into 1985.This thing is an abomination.

j_cuevas713
This stuff looks cool, idk what everyone is complaining about. They have fun art installations like this in every major city, like Philly, NYC, Chicago. And as it ages I think it's gonna look even better, with the grit and normal wear and tear of the city.

Lectro
Yeah, I don't understand all the hate. I think it looks great! And, that is where it needs to stay, nicely caged and away from view. It was miserable then and it is abysmal now.

I love being reminded of my trapper keeper from fourth gradeI don't hate it either, but would much much much prefer something by Lisa Frank. I mean, if you're going FULL acid trip, you might as well go FULL acid trip... Edit: The sculptures are quite goofy (Aaahh!!! Real Monsters). I like them though. Would be nice to have something more permanent/timeless/expensive. Edited March 8, 2016 by Montrose1100
