ChannelTwoNews
Semi cryptic, but still, from bisnow... We busted out our detective hat for you today and found some exciting whisperings and an exclusive scoop on two developments. (You have to promise not to tell anyone else, though.) First, a Westchase office tower that's completely pre-leased. Sources tell us BMS Management is developing an office property on Richmond directly east of Millennium Tower. We snapped this picture yesterday showing that the site has been scraped in preparation. We're told the building is over 400k SF and is completely spoken for, and rumor has it National Oilwell Varco may be the soon-to-be inhabitant. (Its offices are just down the road at Briarpark and Richmond.) The firm's tenant rep and BMS aren't commenting, so we'll have to stay tuned. We have been told that BMS relocated those beautiful live oaks along the property line rather than cutting them down. (They sent them out to pasture, to spend the rest of their days grazing on sunlight in peace.) cloud713
Interesting... So west chase will have its own little cluster of cranes..
august948
There's also a huge tract of land behind that site between Richmond and Westheimer, bordering the Beltway. I keep wondering when that's going to get filled up. It might be good for another mixed-use property, though the Carillon Center bordering on it has always (since I've been here at least) been mostly empty in the back.
swtsig
NOV is indeed the tenant. 415k sf I believe.

The apartment complex known as 3003 Seagler near the traffic circle. They were to build in phases and it would have been similar to City Centre but was shelved during the recession. The property will eventually be built out with multifamily and retail.

cloud713
Ohh, just drove down beltway.. this is going at "westchase park", where their is currently a crane, not the briar lake/westchase highrise cluster? I figured it would be at briar lake for some reason..

I figured it would be at briar lake for some reason.. Cloud you're referring to another 6-7 story office project at Richmond and BW8. This one is directly across the beltway from Westchase Park. There's so much going on right now that its hard keeping track.., so many new surprises of previously unannounced projects. Urbannizer
Millennium Tower II, 22-floors The Millennium Tower in Westchase is getting a long-awaited sibling. The owner of the building has started a second on 3 adjacent acres at 10353 Richmond. Millennium II will have 417,000 square feet of high-end office space and a 1,780-car parking garage. http://www.houstonchronicle.com/business/columnists/sarnoff/article/Westchase-tower-stands-alone-but-that-s-about-to-5216169.php
'Stonian
Nice... in spite of the boxiness that others are sure to complain about. Reminds me of Skanska's new Post Oak tower near the Galleria with similar greenish tent glass, if the rendering is accurate..
brijonmang
Lol, toucheIs this the Westchase project you alluded to as losing a major tenant in that west Houston core thread?
Gary
I'm involoved with NOV on a daily basis and can tell you that they are buying up oilfield service companies almost monthly. They're offices on Parkwood Circle are but a drop in the bucket of their local office work force. The Parkwood Circle office towers are dated. Suprised it's taken them this long to have a spanking new space. I can tell you that the employees are very excited about the move.

Marcus Allen
Awesome. Right next to the freeway; is that going to be a parking garage? They seem to be digging deep.
cloud713
I took a pic of this with my other updates last week but couldn't remember what was going up here.. Sometime in the last month a 2nd crane was put up. I noticed it one weekend when I was in town recently..
Marcus Allen
This tower is not right next to the freeway but rather behind Millennium Tower I (facing Richmond). The lot cleared facing Beltway 8 is for an apartment complex wrapped around an interior garage. http://houstonnewcomerguides.com/news/the-heights-of-westchase-now-underway-westchase-districtOk, cool. Thanks. Do you know haw many units, storeys the apt complex will be? Wow, that is so cool to me, a residential and commercial development going up right next to each other. I like it! toxtethogrady
Well, look at the traffic on that road. That's not south-side-of-Buffalo-Texas traffic.
Texasota
yeah but there's nothing "urban" about that photo. Everything is so out of scale, so far apart, so car-dominated. It pretty much looks like a suburban office park.
