Liberty Kitchen Moving Into The Treehouse At Memorial City

Behind the Nexen building they are currently constructing Johnathan's the Rub's new location. I think its an awesome step up from where they are now...a convenience store? Great food, great staff...love the place! Its tucked in the back corner of the prperty bordering Bunker Hill and Gaylord.

  • Open early November
  • Expected to earn LEED Platinum status for its advanced green elements
  • Restaurant will seat about 150, with additional bar seating for 27 and patio seating for 50
  • A wood-burning grill will anchor the open kitchen
  • plans to leave the menu intact, no longer BYOB
  • Have a much larger wine list and a bar program (heavy on select whiskeys) that is being put together by Mike Raymond of Reserve 101.
  • Plans to close old location two months after the new restaurant opens and will be renovated as a new concept featuring Texas fare.

  • Jonathan Levine has announced he will not be opening a new Jonathan's the Rub at 963 Bunker Hill.
  • “We have made a decision within our family to stay in our current location and continue doing what we do best. We have a great thing going on and an incredible customer base at our unique location on Gaylord Street and will continue providing the best food, the best service and a great experience to our customers.”
