EaDo Station Apartments

Recommended Posts

Is that the rendering? I thought that one got canceled ?

It is the cancelled Mill Creek plan. I just posted to show the land involved. JLB Partners bought the same site from Mill Creek back in January. Judging from their portfolio, I think JLB will deliver us a nicer looking project than Mill Creek's Eado Station plan.

Hmmm. Mill Creek's plan was aggressively urban and contemporary. Looking at JLB's website, there are a few decent looking projects, but most of them are mediocre. There was a purity to Mill Creek's design that's lacking from JLB's stuff.

Which scares me. Mill Creek's design perfectly compliments BBVA Compass Stadium.

311 units.

Sounds like same size as the old Mill Creek plans. Any idea on unit sq footage? More importantly, any idea on street level retail facing Dowling & BBVACS?

One of the few times where its made almost a necessity. Been going to Dynamo games for 3 years now as a season ticket holder, not once did i even bother to go to this side of the stadium. PLEASE put some retail here!

Outstanding. Glad to see this moving forward. Have any renderings of the place under the new ownership been released?

Although this is the 21st century, that looks a little too realistic to be a rendering.

Very nice. Looks like they appropriated a photo of another building with similar features as the rendering.

Guess it will be a copy-paste of another building, Sim City style.

Strata. East of 75. It's also by JLB. Exact same number of units.

If this is what the exterior ends up looking like, I'd be ok with it.

The landscape architecture/ pool ^^^ seems to out-shine the architecture, IMHO. With the exception of those old-looking handrails. The apartment style falls short, looks plain, not modern. About the EaDo, yeah, I'm bringing it up again, it Still sounds nasty. Putting "station" on the end just sounds bizarre. That EaDo Station design looked harsh to me, but somehow "looked in place" with the stadium. I would like to have seen a group of tall pines around the walkway, perpendicular to it, with more overall landscaping. Maybe a water feature.

Might as well. Most residents care a lot more about the pool than they do about the architecture of the building.

Isn't that for parking?

Oops, I meant pedestal, not wrap. Anyway, the rendering / photo of prior work shows 4 floors total. If that's correct, all the floors are concrete. Of course you could be correct and the 4 concrete floors are just parking, but I think that would mean 8-10 floors overall. Either way, I like it a bit better than the average 3 wooden floors on 2 concrete.
