dml423
Noooooooooo! That building was one of my favorites in downtown. Why did they bring it down? I had always hoped they would turn it into lofts.

I had always hoped they would turn it into lofts. It had structural issues, and no one wanted to save it enough to spend dump trucks full of cash to fix it Thread:http://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/29510-hogan-allnoch-building-texas-and-austin/

Montrose1100
16 or so years is a long time... While still dramatic, many cities around the globe and country looked completely different (as far as adding skyscrapers & neighborhoods). The World Trade Center was still around, Enron was skyrocketing on the stock market, the only "skyline" in Europe still belonged to Frankfurt, Dubai was not on the map, Asia was just coming out of their banking collapse, I had not joined HAIF yet... Edit: sorry, forgot about Canary Wharf. Edited January 27, 2016 by Montrose1100

Triton
16 or so years is a long time... While still dramatic, many cities around the globe and country looked completely different (as far as adding skyscrapers & neighborhoods). True but it's still probably the most dramatically changed area in all of Houston. New stadiums, new parks, new hotels, new apartments, new office buildings, new transit system... it's crazy to think about.
Montrose1100
And La Défense in Paris as well.Eh... I'll allow it. Point being that the whole world can change that dramatically for something as evolving as a city neighborhood. Just pointing that out, not dismissing the change that has occurred.
