trymahjong Posted September 23, 2013 Share Posted September 23, 2013 LaHouse Mobile Demonstration House Friday, September 27, 2013 1002 Washington Avenue Houston 77002 Small group guided tours 9 a.m to 5 p.m. Free and open to the public LaHouse Mobile, a new travelling demonstration house, will be outside the Green Building Resource Center in the parking lot adjacent to the Houston Permitting Center and open for free tours. It displays energy-saving, hurricane resistant, termite resistant, moisture and decay resistant and healthy home solutions. It includes a photovoltaic solar energy system that powers the unit's lighting, fan, outlets and display monitor. It has two "rooms" - one depicts a high performance new construction building system; the other reveals a variety of improvements that can be made to existing houses. Informative signs and free educational Extension Service publications are included.
