LaHouse Mobile, a new travelling demonstration house, will be outside the Green Building Resource Center in the parking lot adjacent to the Houston Permitting Center and open for free tours.  It displays energy-saving, hurricane resistant, termite resistant, moisture and decay resistant and healthy home solutions.  It includes a photovoltaic solar energy system that powers the unit's lighting, fan, outlets and display monitor.

It has two "rooms" - one depicts a high performance new construction building system; the other reveals a variety of improvements that can be made to existing houses.  Informative signs and free educational Extension Service publications are included.  Building Science Educator Bill Robinson will be available to answer questions about the techniques and materials used to build the house.
