Got to take a hardhat tour of the site yesterday. Still a lot of work to be done. They're shooting for an October 26th grand opening, with about the first 15 or 16 floors complete at that time. The 39

That's a great shot.  And to give an idea of how much things have changed from this angle recently, below I have attempted to highlight everything that's new in the last 15 years:

Spent some time here this weekend.  I feel more confident about downtown apartments and condos being successful after visiting.  The finishes in the common areas, units are very high-end and very well done.  It was still under construction in the hallways, but this place is great.

step 1: start delivering pizza for pinks

step 2: get access code for this building

step 3: put swim trunks in pizza box

step 4: crash that pool

alternatively, if anyone I know lives there and wants to invite me for a swim, that would be cool too.

I saw it today up close and many of the balconies on the lower floors had furniture and plants.  A good sign if you ask me.

Good news!

I hope that ALL of the apartments in downtown have high occupancies and drive successful lifestyles for those living there and successful businesses for the building owners.

For some reason, it's not letting me post photos of the upper level pool I've taken from the street. It's definitely fun to look up and see people just swimming over to the edge and then lingering for a while to enjoy the view. I've used a couple of different hosting sites but they just keep blurting an error when trying to link to this post. Maybe posting the link will work...

That first post looks like a rendering.  That is just crazy pants having people floating over the sidewalk like that

^^^ would LOVE to reference an illustration of their new CVS PHARMACY under construction if possible......

Sorry, monarch, but you'd only love it if you're really easily entertained - it's still pretty much just a bunch of empty ground floor retail space.

Blake might want to remove that video or at least take his name off of it.

I bet the worst that happens is that the owners of the tower ask them to remove it, or be sued.

Thanks for the video, but talk about some 007 James Bond type place. That tower is heavily guarded.

On the one hand, the residents are paying lots of money, so I'd suspect they expect safety. On the other hand, they'll probably be using this as a training video and security is going to get a little stiffer. even though these people aren't exactly who the staff are trying to keep away.

There have been pools like this for decades, actually.  First one I saw was in Melbourne, Australia in 1996.  So, it's not new.  What may be new about this one is the height above the ground...and that someone filmed it in a creative manner and posted it.
