Urbannizer
Hmm, I think he's confusing this project with another project for downtown.
arche_757
I'm not cofused! Is there or is there not a proposed residential tower by HINES just across from the Asia Society? There is. Hines & Developer X want to build similar sized buildings in downtown. Whereas, Hines & Developer Z want to build similar sized buildings in the Museum District. While one is commercial and the other residential they are still very much comparable. Edited November 12, 2013 by arche_757

nate
Back to the subject on hand... What is the status of this project? Still a go? Or has Hines jumped too far in front of this one too? Yes, now early January.
cloud713
Breaks ground in early January? Cool.. I was wondering when this one would get started. Thanks for the update
HoustonIsHome
You get excellent views of the skyline driving north on 288 from as far back as the beltway. In some spots the gap between TMC and Downtown is small. I bet these Museum District towers will greatly help bridge the gap between the two skylines from THAT vantage spot.

cloud713
Well, spill it already.. Heh, I take it it won't be starting this month. I drove by a few days ago and there hadn't been any work done.

cloud713
NOOOOOooooo!!!!! Lol, for real though, this sucks.. I was really looking forward to having only the third twisting tower in the US.. And possibly a new tallest residential. Ugh, I hope they end up building it. I wonder why they aren't perusing it when the residential market is so hot? kbates2
We had a few months of strictly amazing news. It is all going the way of the pooper recently.
King Owl
Maybe it's being redesigned to be a 102 story twisting tower? (sorry!) actually this one, while an awesome rendering, wasn't as high on my list, since it's outside of one of the major skyscraper zones (downtown, Galleria, energy corridor, med center). It was kind of a lone ranger Edited January 9, 2014 by King Owl
HoustonBoy
Not too many have gone to crap. It's a shame but at lease there have only been about 3 or 4 buildings to be cancelled or set back. So many tower cranes are on the horizon, I can't imagine what Houston will look like in a year.
Sellanious Caesar
He never said it was canceled. Just seems pushed back.

Urbannizer
Besides this, the new Chevron tower, and the Ashby High-Rise, what other projects have been delayed? New projects are still being announced. Chevron tower was delayed because they needed to focus their resources elsewhere, and we all know what's going on with the Ashby high-rise. We don't know why this one has been delayed, and just because a few have been pushed back doesn't mean all the other projects will follow suit.
