BayouBoomtown
Sorry if this has already been asked but is it going to have ground floor retail/restaurant space?
amashgo
Yes. The northwest corner of the building where there's the lantern feature is where that's slated to go in.

Sunstar
Just realized it looking at this picture, but 500 Crawford is shaped like a serif H, somewhat like in the Astros logo.
Nate99
They left a few projects out too. DT is going to look great. Edited August 27, 2015 by Nate99
mollusk
Yeah - it's kinda funny that they've got Hines' Market Square building but not the 40 story one on the other side of the square, nor for that matter Hines' 609 Main project. I can understand not wanting to guess at what the Sorella is going to end up looking like, though.

I can understand not wanting to guess at what the Sorella is going to end up looking like, though. I didn't look too hard at which of the buildings shown are actual ZCA projects, but with Hines Market Square & the Woodbine development across the way, you wouldn't really want to advertise something competing in the same space as your project. As for 609 Main KHA is the AOR with PCA and then Gensler for interiors as I recall correctly. It'll be a landmark building downtown, but it isn't theirs. Just a thought. cspwal
More interesting that they did include 500 Crawford as a grey block when they didn't include so many others

They've left off a few notable buildings UC, including residential by their client's competition. Can someone with advanced photoshop skills add in the missing buildings?

j_cuevas713
Nice more douche bags! Jk kinda BUT on a serious note, imagine if all of the lots in downtown had some sort of tower on it. Downtown would that much more amazing!

amashgo
Do these rendering programs have anything besides white people in them?Hahaha. The programs do indeed have non white people. Whomever is commissioning the renderings is who determines what variety of people you see in said renderings.
BigFootsSocks
Sure, the programs do, but that's kinda lame that the official renders that are released to the public can't reflect that statement.

Popular Post adr
From my home office in the Bayou Lofts, I can finally see Frank's Pizza Tower ("Aris") peaking out over the roofs of the buildings in the 300 block of Travis. For comparison, here is the same view from 1911, when the first piling for this building was drilled.

adr
Adr say goodbye to the Esperson building. Looks like your going to lose that view! Too bad.It looks like I will be able to retain a sliver of a view of the Esperson, but my view of the Rice Hotel sign and the Gulf Building is going to go away. Price of progress (I also now lost my view of the Lyric Center due to Market Square Tower, which I will miss because from my view it looked like it/they were turning their nose down at Penzoil).

nativehoustonion
I went to El Big Band before the Astros game. We sat on the second floor balcony and was very loud construction noise. There are a lot workers there. Once the bottom floors are done it will rise quickly. The Astros are on a skid.
