^^^ since we are referencing the BACK SIDE of this edifice (see above illustration) maybe the FRONT SIDE holds more promise.

also, let's not forget the wonderful / inspiring magic of LED lighting effects as well as beautiful landscaping aesthetics...

are you effin kidding me! Anyone who supports this building go look at it in person! It is the worst color combo ive seen in a LONG time. It straight up looks like a federal jail house

Dude, we have 14 pages of teeth gnashing and complaining about this building. Yes, we know it's not a masterpiece. Yes, we know you think it looks like a prison.

Crazy thing this WOUOD be allowed in chi but it would cost the developers 9x more $$ - and the other thing people wouldn't talk about it because there's no way someone would buy up the equivalent piece of real estate - maybe river north? Just doesn't make sense ; Houston CBD can disappoint today because it is not yet there where it's not HAIFers complaining but rather a bad business decision to cheap out or build a prison prototype.

Houston. I'm gonna give you a pep talk , we are in no way inferior, in fact we are a world class city in every way! Proud HAIFer's we need time and booze , for our CBD to evolve into a space where this type of let down is not hated on but would never happen. Things are pointing in the right direction

Keep calm and look to Monarch for guidance!!!

The Hilton is head and shoulders above this thing. With that said, we'll have more hotel rooms in a "cheaper" price range as compared to the Marquis, Hilton, ect. Once the huge block behind the Marquis and in front of Hampton/Homewood is developed and the other half of the block it sits on, it will block the view of it lol

I'm telling you, this might turn out decent.  The finishing touches and landscaping will be critical.

As has been pointed out, there are better looking Hampton Inns out there, but this should be as good as one could expect for the brand, regardless of hopes.

Any update on the Trammell Crow residential tower across Crawford from the Marriott? As rendered, that tower would tilt perception of the Hamptonwood within the area to nothing but a semi-pleasant bit of nondescript infill.

Put something big across Crawford and cover up the back with another building and that's about all anyone will ever see!

No wasted effort, you have to admire the efficiency.

The red looks kind of like stained wood in person, I doubt that it is though.

I think the light blue is some kind of sealer level coating, but who knows.

That's what I thought/hoped too, but it's been up for a decent amount of time now
