Nate99
The quarter 4 of 2015 If that happens to work out, they are going to be flying over there for the next 5 months. They haven't drilled a piling or anything for the garage section. I'm guessing that they have just declined to update off of what they originally told the development folks. cspwal
I wonder if that addtional steel structure is going to go all the way to the roof? I looked at the rendering and it looks like maybe. That's probably what the steel is that's staged in the big hole

UtterlyUrban
The quarter 4 of 2015While I would imagine that "anything is possible", it seems very hard to imagine that they will finish by Dec 31. For folks who know more about this stuff than me ....... Given the pictures we see above, are we looking at something more like 10-12 months? rechlin
They claimed they were 50% in January but I had a hard time believing that, too. I walked by it on Friday and saw they had made a lot of progress in getting the studs in for the walls on the lower floors, but that still leaves a lot to finish. I see absolutely no way they will complete this on schedule.

BigFootsSocks
Transforming an older office building to residential, while also adding onto the existing building floor by floor, takes a bit more time than usual.
Nate99
You can see in my last pic that they have poured "balconies" jutting out from the new steel section. They may be connection points to the eventual garage that is supposed to go there rather than actual balconies, but details on this thing are pretty sparse. They have done a lot of heavy restoration work on the exterior, and they are moving forward with the interior work on the tower closest to Fannin in addition to what they are adding on here to the back side. 609 is supposed to be open for tenants by the end of 2016 (I think), They are going to have to find another gear to beat that on this building. There still has been zero prep for the garage along the Capitol side.

Nate99
It looks like they've almost finished adding onto the structure with the steel I think the vertical columns are at roof height with a couple of floors/roof structure left on the horizontal beams. cspwal
So now they have a whole 2 months to re-clad the exterior, build out the interior walls, install all the furnishings, replace/repair any broken exterior windows, and build a parking garage that can hold a residential tower on top of it a later date. Yep sounds like they're right on schedule for a 4Q 2015 opening

UtterlyUrban
Any guesses on this one? Another year before the first tenant moves in?If one believe the original schedule as published on the downtownhouston map, this project should have been wrapping up about now. Did they have a major design change or did they encounter a whole host of unknowns? Anyone have any intel?
Nate99
Any guesses on this one? Another year before the first tenant moves in?If one believe the original schedule as published on the downtownhouston map, this project should have been wrapping up about now. Did they have a major design change or did they encounter a whole host of unknowns? Anyone have any intel? I have absolutely no inside info, but just observing the progress, once they had the interior gutted, things went really slow with just bits and pieces of exterior work visible. Interior work definitely continued on the part with the green back on it now such that it may be farther along than we know, but I can’t imagine that they could open that part up for residents while the rest of it is still an active heavy construction site with no parking garage. My guess is they threw out an optimistic date at some point and never updated it. All of the steel framing that has gone up recently had to be fabricated to their specs, I’m not sure what the turnaround time is on something like that, but they may have had to strip the back off of the building before they could develop their design completely. Twinsanity02
From family and friends who have had extensive renovations of their houses I can't say I am surprised this may take longer than expected. BigFootsSocks
They've had pallets of brick stacked up near the rail station for awhile now, so that should hopefully start soon.

hindesky
Looked but couldn't find, merge if needed. TNT was setting up to add more jib on the existing tower crane so it could reach the furthest part of the site. I wonder why didn't they do this when they first erected the tower crane?
