No pictures, but family legend that my Grandmother's family came from Germany ca. 1890 to port of Galveston & traveled by ox drawn wagon to Harrisburg.  Grandmother was child & said mud was axle deep much of the way from Galveston to Harrisburg.  The family traveled on the Washington Co., TX,  No info regarding how they traveled from Harrisburg, TX to Washington Co. TX.  Best of luck with your project as Harrisburg/East End has long been neglected/forgotten.  The movers & shakers of Houston originated from Harrisburg.  Sad it's history has been forgotten.

Daisy Lauretta Smith wrote a paper on the history of Harrisburg quite a while ago. I believe It was published by Chas. H. Milby High School in 1981. Im sure HMRC has a copy.
