manpower priority is probably on the inside of structure. Those last panels are definitely not on the critical path.

^^^ but doesn't it rain inside the unfinished structure?  one would think that they would try and be as expeditious as possible in this regard.....

yes, but My guess is those "fins"/"spires" are just an architectural component and not a part of of the primary 'building envelope' which would reduce water intrusion.

I have two tickets to got to the Hard Hat Tour.  Now I cannot go, I don't think I can get my money back for them. Let me know you somebody wants them on 10/22 $35 each at 1000am.

I will take them if still available...

Will the top of this building be lighted at night?

Yeah, the crown is supposed to be lit, along with LEDs down the recess on the front (and back?).

Good Idea.  But, I actually don't think I have a red shirt.  How about Green, White, Blue or Grey?  Got too many of them.

Green. It shouldn't be the others because they are too common.

Wow, that was a great tour.

Over 50% leased, United is floors 12-19, and the green space on the podium will only be for their office. Hines used the green space amenity to incentivize a large block lease on the lower levels, since upper floors are usually more desirable.

They have 97(?) days to finish up before the deadline. The crane is supposed to come down November 5th, and the exterior elevator lift (very cool experience) is supposed to come down on the 1st.

i didn't realize there was going to be a water feature in the lobby.

They mentioned the glass on the roof that opens up to the 46th-48th floors below would be capable of changing colors/darkening by use of electricity, to reduce direct sunlight on sunny days.

It was great meeting everyone! Naviguessor and I decided we should have a HAIF gathering at the 43rd floor restaurant & lounge/open air observation deck at Wedge tower.

And with that.. its picture time.

Hopefully that wasn't too many pictures/slowed your browser down. They're just iPhone photos and I figured those who weren't able to attend would be interested to see some pictures from the tour.

Good to meet you and naviguesser!

Thanks for posting cloud. The pictures Navi sent me were garbage in comparison.

Those were hand sketches. I was in a hurry. I'll use brighter colors for you next time.

Eight, maybe?  There's a little sliver of 700 Louisiana peeking out from behind Chase, and then 717 Texas (Calpine) at the far right, methinks.

8 sounds good, but would the JP Morgan parking garage by the Texas flag be considered a separate project from the tower? Hate to imagine what Houston's skyline would look like without Gerald Hines, major props to him.

No, they built the garage with the tower. Could you imagine one without the other? Although they now have separate identities, it is true.
