Well I went downtown and I did get a photo of the 609 Main building but it didn't really show much of the crown.  That said, it is still just lighting up the two angled upper sections of the crown.  I

Seems like to me that this building is rising at a snails pace. Am I the only one who feels that way?

^^^ to some degree you are correct wxman.  however, this is all due to this edifice's very intricate and many qualitative details. i don't know upon whether or not, if houston has ever seen a building this dynamic and sophisticated....

True, this may be a skyscraper this dynamic when they built Pennzoil Place in the 70's.  Plus Gerald D. Hines wants Platinum LEED Certification.  He will be in town next Saturday for his 90th birthday along with famous architects in the world.

Haven't seen any mentions of it, but did the green building on the corner that was renovated (500 Milam) ever find a tenant?

 

Yes and no.  The people who re-did it did not find tenants.  But they did sell it.  It was purchased by the Episcopal Health Foundation.  They plan to move their offices into the upper floors (may have already moved in).

 

The first floor and mezzanine have been leased to Christ Church Cathedral. It will house the Hines Center for Spirituality and Prayer.
