Yes and here's more proof

"Last week's mystery is solved: The "snowman" in the architect's rendering of Hines' multifamily project 21 Eleven is the reflection of St. Anne's steeple. Yes, the rendered reflection; that's one precise architect. 21 Eleven is officially in the dirt, and before you know it, we'll be able to see if they got the angle just right. Thanks to everyone who sent in their photo explanations!"

It looks very nice overall. The wood, the brick work... everything looks premium. The only really bad area is the lower right hand side of this first photo on the first floor. It's giant beige cinderblocks and I am not exactly sure why they didn't try to do something else in that area. Perhaps they will put a vine wall over that section but that small area does look really bad, right next to the road. It's still under construction so I guess we'll wait and see.

This is a six story stick-built (wood frame) building?

haha... ok, premium looking on the outside.

It is concrete on the lowest floor with the steel sections throughout but it is mainly wood on the upper floors: http://www.houstonarchitecture.com/haif/topic/27160-21-eleven-new-apartments-by-hines-at-2111-westheimer/?p=458380

I don't know anything about fire codes here or anywhere else but I am surprised that COH allows stick frame building this tall. I guess buildings like this likely have effective fire sprinklers in each unit but it still surprises me that code doesn't require concrete slabs between floors for buildings of this many stories. Is Houston unique or is this common around the country?

I assumed that similar sized (height) resi buildings that are starting construction downtown would be slab between floors. I will need to pay more attention as they build.
