Houston Mod invites you to join us this Sunday for Mod of the Month. Two vintage modern houses in the Braeswood area will be open for touring. The houses are presently available for purchase and need new preservation minded owners. They are located close to the medical center in south-west Houston.

Special opportunity: Vintage modern dealer Re-Mod will be on hand showing some of their most recent finds!

This marvelous mid-century modern house is prominently situated on a large lot overlooking Braes Bayou and park. Behind the exciting basket weave patterned brick privacy wall you will find a spacious 3,000 sf mod complete with flowing spaces and high beamed ceilings. There is ample space for entertaining in the living room, family room and/or game room. Old Braeswood is the setting for this handsome vintage ranch that contains what is most beloved about 1950's houses. The house was custom built and the original owner has continued to maintain it in excellent condition. She is hoping a new family will cherish it as much as she has. All rooms are spacious including the family room where blonde is the theme. Original blonde colored paneling, custom bookcases, and parquet wood floors coordinate with the flagstone fireplace wall, all illuminated by original cove and recessed lighting. One wall is sliding glass doors which open to an expansive flagstone-paved terrace. Two full and two half baths are another notable feature of the house. The original tile work in the bath rooms is most admirable and appropriate in completing the vintage statement. Also there is a two car garage and covered parking for two additional vehicles in the integral car port. Such a complete original vintage house is a difficult find and impossible to duplicate and its all still here in excellent condition just blocks from Rice, the Village, and the Medical Center.
