HoustonMidtown Posted January 23, 2012 Share Posted January 23, 2012 We noticed the for sale sign a few weeks ago while eating at La Mexicana.....thought it was for the house/apt in back though...didn't realize the whole place was going....When I needed some quick booze...I would stop in there -- in and out in 2 minutes.. trymahjong Posted February 14, 2012 Share Posted February 14, 2012 On the neighborhood yahoo group-- La Mexicana wanted to buy this property last year but owners of liquor store "weren't ready" but speculation is that it would be bought by LaMexicana for parking. Also speculation => the owners of Liquor store also own car wash by autozone and might reopen the attached small store offering liquor etc but on smaller scale. When we spoke to the lady running the store, she said she was going to have to get a new job and they weren't re-opening. Maybe she is wanting to keep her secret safe!
