VicMan
I noticed that the Alief ISD elementary school boundaries were altered between 04-05 and 05-06. A new school, "Horn", appeared on the map. Is this a new Alief ISD elementary school?
editor
Perhaps it's a reference to them shoe"horn"ing in another school? Ha!No, just kidding. I know nothing.
VicMan
Horn is at 10734 Bissonnet, Houston TX 77099According to the zoning maps, Horn in the general zoning area is relieving Boone and Smith Elementary schools. In fact, Boone's attendance boundary is somewhat shifted to the left. This caused Alexander ES's boundary to shift left also, taking a piece of Hicks ES' boundary. As for the bilingual zoning, Horn relieved Chambers, Kennedy, and Landis.Horn was Elementary number 23 before it was given a name.EDIT: Horn students go on to Klentzman Intermediate (Grades 5 - 6) and Olle Middle (7 - 8). VicMan
The Horn in Alief is named after Gladys Horn, while the Horn in Bellaire is named after Paul W. Horn..
