kdog08
It's clean, but more glass would compliment HEB a bit more. I would certainly prefer a brick and with extra glass facade.
Montrose1100
TOWER OF TRAFFIC!!!!! image.jpg I just thought it would great if someone would draw a cartoon of this and turn it into a gif. it being constructed floor by floor, then it grows the eyes and arms and starts grabbing houses and people and eats them. Sorry, back to the modest apartments which will make great infill with an okay design.
Geoff8201
Took notice of this for the first time driving by. Was wondering what was going to become of this site when I first saw the old grocery store that had been everything from a Fiesta, to a Halloween Spirit, back in time when it was a Safeway and AppleTree. Only thing I'm wondering is, who is Suzanne and why are we naming an apartment complex after her?

Alec
Large concrete pillars were being hoisted up today. I haven't seen this construction method before.
Purdueenginerd
Those are precast members.--- That might be the parking garage but I can't tell where it is in relation to the plot plan.
capnmcbarnacle
I don't think I've seen the number of units that are going to be in this thing -- anyone know?
bobruss
These are going up in the center on the back side of the plot. It appears to be the garage columns.

JoninATX
Thanks Urbannizer, kinda of an odd way of constructing an apartment building, but if it gets the job done then it's ok by me.
fernz
It's actually very common to build the precast garage first and the build apartments around it.
ChrisPHous
"Where were you, when they built a stairway to heaven?" I think this is a pretty interesting design in the sense that it will be very close to the street, but the recessed entrance give a little sense of "security" for the residents. bobruss
Progress on the Suzanne this was taken 3/13. If you look in the background around the stair tower where they are constructing the apartments you will notice goal post shaped structural systems to support the floors I guess. I haven't seen this kind of structural elements used for this type of project before so I'm not sure.

arche_757
The ultimate job in Houston would be the demolition crane operator for the destruction of the Central Bank Building in Midtown. Talking about something swinging one of these:
Triton
Something bad is going down here. They have all of West Alabama shut down. They have a fire truck ladder extended into the top floor.

They must be searching for a suspect. I was at Brasil and later went to Agoras. Dozens of cop cars have been speeding from the site with their lights on down Dunlavy and Westheimer. Two nearly crashed into each other when one came speeding down Westheimer towards Montrose and the other was coming down Dunlavy towards West Gray. Last I checked, West Alabama is still shut down.
