enriquewx91
Was driving into downtown the other day and the construction is clearly visible from 45N and 610. It's gonna alter the skyline a tad from this side once it is complete.

tangledwoods
Quote Now that is Glass with Class Its nice to see the four sided silicon glazing at the corners contrasting with the vertical fins on the main elevations. This thing is looking sharp.
bobruss
This will add so much to this 4 block area not in height but how the building will relate to the others in comparison to the very bland brick Houston club building it replaces. You can already see the way the other buildings reflect off all of this glazing. it will be a beautiful array of colors, patterns and light playing off the surfaces of this multi faceted gem. This is a great addition to the neighborhood in terms of sight lines and the views from inside the new tunnel entry looking up and out to the existing structures, and will also add a totally new dimension to the downtown tunnel system bringing in sun light. bobruss
Thats why I kept telling y'all to enjoy it while you could. It was a great view of the Pennzoil. Consider it good fortune that you had it for the last year. Before all you had was the old brick Houston club.

bobruss
I was going to grad school and waiting tables at Carrabbas at the time. I waited on Joe Jamail and Hugh LIdetke the night they won the case. They had a bottle of Dom and left me a very nice tip. Joe was the lawyer and of course Hugh was Mr. Pennzoil. Obviously they were very pleased, as was I.

Purdueenginerd
Green roofs are great. I've worked on a few in the Chicago Land area. Wish more Houston developments utilized them. Though 1 building isnt a lot, thousands can lower the strains on stormwater runoff system for the city-- something that would be quite apt given recent events.

tangledwoods
What's crazy is that for a long time the design was to have a green roof but for it not to be accessible to anyone but maintenance people. This is at least a 2-3 million dollar amenity that they are adding, I am curious if BOA is chipping in or if this is what they needed to include to get BOA signed as a tenant. Regardless, this going to be one hell of a feature and will likely have one of the best downtown views.
