In case your in the med center area and wandering what the commotion is about, they supposedly have the prisoner escapee cornered at the Baylor Clinic 6620 Main. They have Main St. shut down.

The Baylor Clinic in the Texas Medical Center was on lockdown for several hours on Friday after a reported sighting of escaped prisoner David Puckett.

Houston Police Department detectives and SWAT officers searched the clinic at 6620 Main for about four hours.

"Nobody was found," HPD spokeswoman Jodi Silva said.

HPD spokesman Kese Smith said the department was alerted just before 1 p.m. about the possible sighting of Puckett, who had been captured on video footage in the medical center earlier this week.

About 2 p.m., Baylor College of Medicine employees were told to remain in place. No one was allowed to exit or enter the building. The search ended about 5 p.m.

Silva said the search for Puckett now is being handled by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force, a multi-agency team that includes the FBI, HPD, Harris County Sheriff's Office and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

I would hope there was more to go on than a "reported sighting". This young man just looks so ordinary, so 'normal' and so much like a hundred other young men all over Houston. Or maybe hundreds of other young men. I really doubt that he would hang around the medical center unless he was really in pain or bleeding all over the place. I mean, what are the chances that the officers would actually recognize him?

He's probably long gone from Houston.

Arrested in Omaha:

David Puckett, 27, was arrested at about 8:45 p.m. at the apartment of a female friend, who also was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshalls.

There is a requirement for all buildings within the Texas Medical Center to either connect by skybridge or be designed to accommodate a skybridge.

The proposal also includes a future connection from the proposed pedestrian sky bridge to the property across Southgate Boulevard that will be the site of a future Texas Children’s Hospital facility.

Texas Children's Hospital is adding another 190,000 square feet to its Pavilion for Women in the Texas Medical Center with the transformation of the former Baylor Clinic.

The building signage is Pavilion Tower II, but I believe the official name is Pavilion for Women Tower II.

Maybe it's an age thing, but it still seems odd to me that it's already being upgraded and converted and the like.

I remember going to park here sometime during the summer of 2004, right after they finished it to visit a friend who was in the hospital at what was the St. Luke's O'Quinn Tower at the time. Some of the screens on the parking level hadn't been completely installed but it was still open to the public. Concrete was super bright even inside, so it was exceptionally new and didn't seem to have had much traffic at that point.

Decent enough view toward Rice before the BRC was built a few years later.

Makes sense that they've extended the skybridge to reach both towers across Main now.
