historicmontrose
Does anyone know the architect of record? Who built this? ANy old photos? Such a cool midcentury building with not a lot of info... It was home to some of the nicest bars/nightclubs in the city and has a lot of history that people don't appreciate. Fringe
Isn't that the building that formally housed Scott Gertners Skybar?
brucesw
An earlier topic in the Historic Houston forum. There are other scattered mentions in that forum, too.
historicmontrose
Yes- it is the former skybar building 3400 montrose boulevard. The old Southern States Life Insurance building. Anybody know anything about this company? It appears that their offices were located across the street where the Walgreens sits today and then they moved into 3400 Montrose in 53 when it was built and then expanded the building in 55.
