Houston Mod invites you to join us this Sunday, November 21st (3:00-5:00 PM), for Mod of the Month. A wonderful architect designed mid-century modern house currently for sale will be open for touring. It is located in the River Oaks neighborhood of west-central Houston. This is a free event.

Houston architect M. Arthur Kotch designed this modern house in 1960 for Gordon and Lucia Cain. Since 1965, it has been owned by the Lockwood family, who will be our hosts for the event.

The house boasts an impressive array of mid-century features:

~an open central staircase

~decorative wood and iron screens

~ornamented front doors

~numerous skylights

~gleaming terrazzo floors

~meticulously-maintained exterior redwood siding

~original cabinetry and fixtures

The house has four bedrooms plus a separate suite at the back of the property for guests, workshop, or a home office.

Floor-to-ceiling windows in the living and breakfast rooms provide views to an original terrace and lush greenery in the backyard.

The original floor plans will be on view during the tour. The current owners seek a preservation-minded buyer to enjoy this impressive well-built house. This house is for sale by owner. Sales information will be available at the event.
