sevfiv
The building on Greenbriar next to Christ the King church (used to be the Baylor Family Medicine Building) will be torn down - it is owned by JTVP Corp. which is a nonprofit subsidiary of Rice University. Does anyone know what is planned for this location? Quote Starting Monday, December 21, 2009, demolition contractor Magnolia Services will secure the site at 5510 Greenbriar and begin removal of the interior abandoned furniture, rubbish and build outs in the building. The contractor will fence off the north end of the lot from the adjacent church as a part of the work. This work will be conducted from the west side of the structure from the parking lot in the back of the building. The contractor will have dumpsters and mechanized demolition equipment on site. There may be minor noise & dust associated with dumping of the interior rubbish into the dumpsters. The contractor will work 5 days a week starting at 7:00 am and ending by 3:30 pm each day, but not during Christmas or New Years Eve, day or weekends. Scheduled church services will be observed. Starting Monday, January 4, 2010 the contractor will begin tearing the structure down. It is anticipated that the structure will be totally down in one week, followed by debris removal for recycling. There will be jack hammer and engine noise as well as dust associated with this phase of work. Every effort will be made to minimize the noise and surfaces will be wetted to minimize dust. The site will be graded and hydro mulched. This work is scheduled to be completed around the middle of January, weather permitting.
