Twitter1
Sorry guys. I've stopped updating this thread because I feel guilty after drinking a few beers then posting. Feel like I'm PWD (Posting While Drunk) CM made a major milestone in construction this week. OMG I can't handle it. I have like 20 photos to share but don't want to post them all.. I have accumulated construction photos over the past month. Here are some from this weekends! Old Central Market logo was removed. Temp banner as replacement What's in the boxes!?! (Register parts?) New red brick and new register systems New register system "Sky high" ceiling as they were advertising Prairie Pirate Paradise was on tap. Ranks a 95 on BA, which is World Class status. Drank three glasses and decided to leave. Can't flurf where I eat. Update: The next day it was sold out! I only got to have three pours :/ Good stuff for sure. Twitter1
Sexy (behind the scenes) What is that used for!?! Home made chocolate? CM did not spend money on bathroom remodels. I even heard a angry customer saying there wasn't a "baby changing" area. Edit: I have not seen the drawings. I could be wrong.. Twitter1
That's it, I'm done. Central Market is amazing!! wow Sorry, no photos. Well, I have about 50 photos from the past few months but don't want to take the time to post them. Bathrooms are starting to be remodeled, or are they just that gross? Hoping the bathrooms get touched up. I'm a honey and maple syrup collector.. CM just started a Greek section. They have like 9 times of Greek honey! I don't see how a single store can have like 30 types of honey. Their chip isle(s)! They have a tortilla chip isle, and then a "flavored" chip isle. Probably a selection of 75 different types of chips? It's just amazing.. the selection you have. That's how you spend money! Gotta have control.. pablog
I haven't been to central market in a while, but looking forward to seeing it soon. Oh, and to go along with that variety of chips, get some Salsa Maya along the way! I can't put that stuff down, so good !

Twitter1
Sneak peak update on their new in-house chocolate factory. Copper line. Sushi department? Other side of the copper line.. temperature controlled shelving. Might be the same design as the others in the "prepared foods" area? 2nd floor by the kitchen school had this blue tarp last month. That area is now filled with seating! They expanded the upstairs "cafe seating". Such a massive place.

They (temporarily?) moved the lotion area in the Health & Beauty department. The left over shelving is old and gross! Surely these will go once the remodel furnishings take place? Hopefully they don't skimp on the budget for new shelving. I understand once products hit the shelves again, the stains will hardly be noticeable, but they are still old and gross. Oh yeah!! New shelving!! (Was put in place a few weeks ago. Just now sharing photos.)

Twitter1
I heard rumors that only one bathroom set will be remolded. Basically all the (male) bathrooms are "torn apart" though. Maybe they'll touch them up, but just not remodel them with new sinks, urinals, toilets, etc. One thing that CM doesn't do a good job at is the men's bathrooms. Yuck New wine racks by the meat deli

Twitter1
While some of their bathrooms might be sub-par (if only a select few are being touched up) at least they give a great flower presentation. Most of the time the flowers are beautiful orchids but this month it's this flower. Named? Think they're expensive.. $30/plant? Classy! They always have a oil diffuser by the sinks as well. Twitter1
So.. the CM chocolate factory.. This month two vents were installed so the roasted chocolate permeates the intimidate exterior. Every time you walk by you get this strong cacao smell It's been under construction for a while. Asked a partner about it. They said the actual "bean to bar" process takes 3-months. Something like that anyway. The process, to which they are doing, takes several months. Guess the cacao beans are flown in from around the world and then processed into chocolate on-site at Central Market? Once they get the raw beans, it takes 3 months to process.
Twitter1
Each CM has their own perks. They're not all uniformed. I believe the main Austin CM has an on-site coffee bean roasting process. Was buying coffee today and noticed the "In-House Roasted" beans are now packaged and shelved. They are hand written with the darkness level and date. The package indicates it was roasted at the Austin, Texas Central Market. I'm guessing Houston got the chocolate factory, instead of the coffee roasting. Maybe Houston's chocolate will be transferred into Austin! 5-days old when the picture was taken. Reminds me of D&Q's Yellow Rose beer situation The package of beans gives off a very strong smell! This is the first time I'm trying this "new" CM coffee beans. Monday morning will have it's perks!

Twitter1
Drip station. Fancy Long line. All brand new Menus are up. Nothing on beer! Still rooting for growler refills. They're not going to increase the amount of beer taps, but they might be able to do growler refills. With you bringing your own growler in. Other CM locations have a "full wall" of beer taps! We have like 5.. Oh well Wonder how they're going to price out a growler of barrel aged stout? Might be like $40 or something. Smoothie menu. One of the smoothies $6.99! Heard that it's not uncommon for a health smoothie. All those organic fruits and veggies adds up. Edited May 13, 2017 by Twitter1

Twitter1
CM's chocolate factory is complete! Photos over the past week or so. The cacao beans come in an 11x17" container? Looks like 11x17" copy paper reams! Cacao beans. Shiny/oily. Reminds me of coffee beans Liquid chocolate spinning around in circles! You can see the spout to the right. As of today, packaged bean to bar chocolate is for sale! They have waxed cacao beans (and cacao nibs?) placed around the bars as an example of what you're buying.

Twitter1
Okay.. CM's organizing for the major event was just like my (shamelessly) non-profit. For the "first 500" bag handout, it was an immediate rush. It was like bumper cars! Think Black Friday sale. Little did I know, the bags were (also) for sale, after the fact. *some things went wrong during the premier. I don't blame them. It's a lot of pressure to have the owner and media visit,. Their "ribbon" was made out of a wreath! It was the Holiday wreath design! Lased with misc. vegetables and citrus! The wreath has.. purple kale, lemon, kale, ?, radishs, and leaves.. wow!! Two of the Butts pictured here.
