EMME Posted June 25, 2009 Share Posted June 25, 2009 I like the idea of giving it to a group that will paint over graffiti.You might be able to take it as a tax write-off.Plan a mural to cover a wall plagued by graffiti. The Greater East End Management District has an ongoing Community Mural Program. Partnering with Keep Houston Beautiful and other organizations and working with selected artists, the District enlists the support of school students to paint murals on designated wall settings previously tagged with graffiti. The goal of the District is to sponsor several murals every year. Call the District office, 713.928.9916. Keep Houston Beautiful also transforms targets of graffiti into community enhancing public art and educational initiatives by harnessing the creative energy and talent of neighborhood youth through the Graffiti Hurts Mural Project. In collaboration with the Houston Arts Alliance Civic Art and Design Program, the Keep Houston Beautiful Clean Neighborhoods Program sponsors the creation of murals by youth groups under the guidance of professional artists.
