Bissonnet getting resurfaced between Montrose and Mandell

Recommended Posts

The title explains it all. I'm glad to see them finally resurfacing it. It's been in bad condition for as long as I can remember.

Yep, I agree...drove down Bissonnet yesterday to the museum district and it was a mighty bumpy ride

Are they closing any part of the road off? Sounds like hell but much needed.

Nope. Just letting one lane through at a time. And, yes, it was hell.

101 degree heat + hot asphalt= hell for the construction crews.

at least they are in the shade

I drove over it again today. It's 100 times better than what used to be there before, but it's not glass smooth like some other resurfacing jobs I've driven over. Maybe they're going to add another layer of asphalt? That may explain why there's no striping as of yet.

It's better, but Bissonnet could stand to be refinished all the way to 610W.

Well, there's one decent section that was given the full treatment, being rebuilt with concrete, between Mandell and Kirby. That job was completed about 10 years ago if memory serves correctly.

Montrose Blvd could really use some help between the bridge and the fountain. Also, I think Bagby is in far worse shape than Bissonnet was. It's good to see them at least paving something again. Holcombe turned out pretty good.
