In addition to launching two new routes June 1, METRO will also be implementing several changes to its fixed-bus routes this month to raise schedule reliability and efficiency.

The service changes include trip time adjustments to core routes such as the 1 Hospital, 2 Bellaire, 8 South Main, 20 Long Point, 25 Richmond, 65 Bissonnet, 81 Westheimer-Sharpstown, 163 Fondren, among others.

The agency will also be eliminating redundant service to the Texas Medical Center, while simplifying other routes for better mobility in busy thoroughfares.

The service changes will go in effect May 31, 2009.

On June 1, 2009, METRO will roll out two new routes to expand service - the 402 Quickline Bellaire, which will help ease demand on the popular 2 Bellaire, and the 32 Renwick Crosstown, which will offer a high level of connectivity and flexibility to other METRO bus routes. Both routes are part of the METRO Solutions plan.
