mollusk
Doesn't Bridgeview Crossing sound like a Cypress area neighborhood? Or perhaps a n overly dramatic soap opera serial drama on the Burning Bed Channel Lifetime.

Urbannizer
Why not? I prefer the project to be canned and to wait a few more years with the possibility of having something with a more interesting design and better interaction with the neighborhood to go up.

Alec
EDIT: I checked the website and spring 2016 was the original completion date, so this is probably just rehanging the old banner, not a groundbreaking date. I could have been distracted by the smell of my Kam's take-out on prior occasions, but I don't think I saw this banner with "Spring 2016" before tonight: Edited October 11, 2015 by Alec
clutchcity94
Any updates on future development of this vacant lot? The owner of the lot also owns the adjacent lot at 905 Woodrow St, for a combined lot size of 35,547 sq ft. I heard a rumor that it might be a boutique hotel, but not sure if there's any truth to that... It looks like neither of these projects ever took off at the same location, so who knows. clutchcity94
Here’s the marketing material from Cushman & Wakefield for this lot. Given that the two rumored mid-rise office projects never took off on this lot over the past decade, coupled with the new Broadstone Museum District condos going up right across the bridge, I’m will to bet this gets developed into a similar luxury condo mid-rise/high rise. It’ll be very well positioned to the new Ion tech center as well, Thoughts? 1

I wrote the above so others on the board would know the listing was created in April and updated this month. No one posted a link to the sale listing, only that it was on the market again. I like to include those kind of details to provide more background, info, or anything else posters may find to be useful. It is also useful, I find, when looking back through past posts to get a better timeline of happenings with a property or development. Makes sense. I wonder if this lot is truly large enough for a mid rise? Clear Channel seems to own the lot just east of this one on Woodrow (currently a billboard there). I suppose if you combine the two, it would be large enough for something.

HNathoo
That’s a tough site to develop without some significant variances - you lose ~15k sq ft to setbacks on an already very tight site.

clutchcity94
The more I think about it, this spot would be perfect for another art studio or museum, similar to the art space directly across Woodrow Street (4411 Montrose). Or, of course, more townhomes. I just don’t see an office building working in this spot.

zaphod
Being near the highway might mean its noisy there, but the view would kick butt even from lower floors because you have that road trench and then the open space to see above the tree line. Even on the second floor you'd be able to see the Med Center skyline.
