Howard Huge
This article answer my question above ;Phttp://www.bizjourna.../20/daily7.htmlI know some of you guys can answer this for me, what happens when you have two or three pre-lessees so you go ahead and break ground on a project, then your lessees back out on you for whatever reason. Im sure there is legal recourse, but what happenes to the structure, do you just finish building it anyway, without any tenants?

Fortune
Is there any word about this project going up ? Have any pre leases taken place ?
lockmat
Is there any word about this project going up ? Have any pre leases taken place ?Midway's website says it is "under development" but loopnet's listing has not been updated for months, of which I'm not sure necessarily has any meaning. Urbannizer
There's a sign of life here, a project/bid page was updated for the building on October 30th. You'll need to register for further access. http://constructiondatacompany.com/construction-projects/72724/m-fifty-nine-mixed-use-building-houston-tx/
Fortune
That's good news, I liked that design. I think it will look good from 59.
Alec
Variance request was considered July 24. I can't find the minutes, but they probably just aren't posted yet.
toxtethogrady
So is this office or residential? I would assume they don't need to worry about pre-leasing if they're building condos.
cloud713
Don't condos typically require like ~60% pre leasing to start construction? Edited July 31, 2014 by cloud713

Urbannizer
So this is the new design...which is disappointing. Now known as "Bridgeview Crossing" by Griffin Partners. Breaks ground 1Q 2015. http://www.loopnet.com/xNet/MainSite/Listing/Profile/Profile.aspx?LID=18857348

cloud713
NOOOOO!!! not that M fifty nine was amazing, but the garage everything on this looks terrible. at least the bland beige stucco(?) side that looks like its straight off a 1970s hospital or some almost brutalist federal building is facing to the north/away from the highway. Fortune
What a downgrade design wise . . . Atleast it still has some height to it.
Subdude
"Bridgeview Crossing"? Sounds like some suburban strip center. As in "The Shoppes at Bridgeview Crossing".

Triton
It's a downgrade but it doesn't seem all that bad to me... Not a huge huge difference from the first renderings. Glad to see an office midrise at this location.

Glad to see an office midrise at this location. You're right. It really isn't BAD, but the red brick would have complimented the Montrose / Museum District vibe. Also the street interaction is much much worse.
